WINS Wraparound Program in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
Wraparound Intensive Services, or WINS, is a team-based support program for youth and families with complex behavioral health needs.
Prism Psychology provides WINS wraparound services for youth and families in Coeur d’Alene, Kootenai County, and North Idaho. WINS may be helpful when a child or teen is struggling across multiple areas of life and weekly therapy alone is not enough.
WINS is designed for youth who may be having serious difficulty at home, school, or in the community, especially when several systems are involved. This may include school problems, behavioral health treatment, juvenile justice or probation involvement, child protection involvement, recent hospitalization or crisis evaluation, family conflict, safety concerns, or difficulty maintaining stability in the home or community.
The goal of WINS is to bring the important people together, understand the youth and family’s strengths and needs, and create a practical plan of support.
When WINS May Help
WINS may be appropriate when a youth or family needs more coordination and support than traditional outpatient therapy can provide. Families may benefit from WINS when:
- A child or teen is struggling significantly at school, home, or in the community
- Therapy has been helpful but is not enough by itself
- There has been a recent crisis, emergency room visit, or psychiatric hospitalization
- Multiple providers or systems are involved
- Parents or caregivers feel overwhelmed trying to coordinate services
- There are safety concerns, emotional dysregulation, aggression, running away, school refusal, or repeated crises
- The family needs a coordinated team and a clear plan
What WINS Includes
WINS uses a high-fidelity wraparound model. A Wraparound Coordinator works with the youth, family, caregivers, providers, school staff, community supports, and other involved systems to build a Child and Family Team.
The team works together to:
- Identify the youth and family’s strengths and needs
- Develop a coordinated plan of care
- Create or update a crisis and safety plan
- Improve communication between providers and systems
- Support the family in home, school, and community settings
- Monitor progress and adjust the plan over time
- Plan for transition when formal wraparound support is no longer needed
WINS is family-driven, youth-guided, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. The process is meant to help families build support that can last beyond the formal program.
